Facts about WKNO and Digital Television
The
web site links provided should answer most questions you might
have about digital television and the pending analog signal shutoff
(set for February 17, 2009).
Here is a guide for finding WKNO’s
digital channels. Please note that by fall of 2008, all programming
you get on Channel 10 will be on WKNO-HD. Schedules >>
Over the air with an antenna:
If you receive television over the air with an antenna, you
will need to purchase a digital television (does not have to
be a high definition TV) or a digital converter box. For information
on roof or attic antennas, visit antennaweb.org
WKNO-HD is Channel 10.1
WKNO2 is Channel 10.2
Note: WKNO/Channel
10 is an analog channel and cannot be viewed through a digital
converter box. However, you will be able to get Channel 10 if
you tune to it with your television and not with the box. By
fall of 2008, all programming you get on Channel 10 will be on
WKNO-HD.
Also, you can view WKNO-HD with your digital converter
box or your digital cable or satellite service. However, you
can only watch WKNO-HD in true high definition if you have a
high definition television set.
COMCAST DIGITAL CABLE
Comcast
customers will continue to be able to watch television after
February 17, 2009, without having to purchase a new television
or a digital converter box. On Comcast Digital Cable: WKNO-HD
is Channel 810 (however, if you want to watch it in true high
definition, you will need an HDTV). WKNO2 is Channel 910.
DIRECTV
DirecTV customers will continue to be able to watch
television after February 17, 2009, without having to purchase
a new television or a digital converter box. WKNO-HD will be
available soon on DirecTV. Contact DirecTV for channel number
information.
WKNO2 is not currently available on DirecTV. However, if you
have a digital television with a tuner or a digital converter
box, you can pick up WKNO-HD and WKNO2 over the air with an

DISH NETWORK
Dish Network customers will continue to be able
to watch television after February 17, 2009, without having
to purchase a new television or a digital converter box.
Neither
WKNO-HD nor WKNO2 is currently available on Dish Network. However,
if you have a digital television with a tuner or a digital
converter box, you can pick up WKNO-HD and WKNO2 over the air
