WITH INFINITE HOPE: MLK and the Civil Rights Movement

 

With Infinite Hope looks back at the life, leadership, and legacy of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The program follows King's career from his hiring at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and leadership of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, through his death on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis. The documentary includes interviews with people who participated in well-known events of the Civil Rights Movement: the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Freedom Rides, the Birmingham Children's March, Selma, and the Memphis Sanitation Workers Strike.

Alabama: Hymns and Gospel Favorites

 

One of the most acclaimed country bands of all time, Alabama celebrate their love for gospel music in this collection of songs of faith including “Church in the Wildwood,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and the new “Angels Among Us.” Although they typically perform in large arenas, Randy, Teddy and Jeff gather friends and family for an intimate concert at home for Hymns & Gospel Favorites.

Alan Jackson Precious Memories

 

Recorded to honor his mother's request that he release an album of gospel classics, Alan Jackson's Precious Memories CD quickly made its way to the top of the sales charts and into the hearts of fans, selling over 1.8 million copies. The concert that followed was taped at the historic Ryman, in Nashville, TN, and features signature renditions of traditional hymns and gospel favorites. Selections include: "When We All Get to Heaven," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art."

Classic Gospel

 

The CLASSIC GOSPEL series from Gaither Music offers the same homecoming concert experiences audiences have enjoyed for many seasons. Each season (1000, 1100, 1200 and 1300) features classic episodes dedicated to artists like Cliff Barrows, Marty Stuart, the Booth Brothers, and the Statler Brothers. Also included in this season are specials dedicated to patriotic hymns and Bill Gaitherís favorite country gospel tunes.

New Madrid:
The Earthquakes of 1811 – 1812

 

Beginning in 1811 and lasting through part of 1812, one of North America's strongest earthquake sequences struck the western frontier of the United States. However, this wasn't California, but the Mississippi River Valley – what is now the country's heartland. Some of these quakes were felt a thousand miles away and created Reelfoot, Tennessee's largest natural lake.
