WKNO WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND ANNOUNCES OFFICERS
WKNO Public Broadcasting is pleased to announce new Board members and officers, as well as acknowledge the service of outgoing Board members.
The officers for the 2014-2015 Board are: Dr. Craig Esrael, Chairman; Calvin Anderson, Vice-Chairman; Rick Schultz, Secretary; and Michael J. LaBonia, Treasurer.
WKNO is pleased to announce that Carol Ross-Spang, from Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, has joined the Board and former Board Chairman Bill Taylor has returned.
Carol Ross-Spang (photo attached) is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. She joined Methodist in 2000 as vice president of Human Resources and was promoted to her current role in 2001. In 2003, she was awarded the Methodist Healthcare Sherard Award as Executive of the Year for her work in leading the organization’s human capital strategies.
Mrs. Ross-Spang moved to Memphis in 1978 with her husband Mike Ross-Spang, owner of Healthy Habits Fitness. They have two children: Matt, Manager, Sound Engineer and Producer at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis; and Allison, a recent graduate of the College of Charleston in South Carolina and the Customer Relations Manager for Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston.
Mrs. Ross-Spang, an avid supporter of WKNO expressed, “WKNO wakes me up in the morning, gets me to and from work and keeps me informed and inspired. It is my key source for world events, yet provides a very personal connection to the stories and cultural life in Memphis. WKNO is critical to the community because it is the one source that links us to the world, to Memphis and to the human spirit.”
Bill Taylor (photo attached) retired in 2005 from the Tennessee Valley Authority as vice-president. He received his BA and MA from The University of Memphis.
