 WKNO to Air Tape-Delayed Coverage of 2012 Girls’ Volleyball and Soccer Championships Tournaments

Memphis, Tennessee (October 29, 2012) – The Tennessee Channel on WKNO2 will air tape-delayed coverage of girls’ volleyball and soccer tournaments Nov 3-4 and Nov 10-11. See below for exact schedule. WKNO2 is available over the air on Channel 10.2 and on Comcast Digital Cable Channel 910.

“The Girls’ Volleyball and Soccer Championship Tournaments are a celebration of athletic achievement and a fitting end to a great year,” said Bernard Childress, Executive Director for TSSAA. “We are proud to have the events broadcast for families and fans of the student athletes that are not able to make it to the events.”

“Tennesseans value their youth and local sports,” said Michael J. LaBonia, WKNO President and CEO. “We are pleased to partner with the TSSAA Network to be able to bring these games to our viewers.”

The airing of these games is part of a deal between the Tennessee public television stations and the TSSAA Network, which is a partnership between the TSSAA and PlayOn! Sports.

The events will also be available for LIVE viewing on the video portal. The State Volleyball and Soccer Championship events are presented by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc., the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office and the TSSAA Network.
