WKNO TO CELEBRATE GRAND OPENING
OF NEW DIGITAL MEDIA CENTER

WKNO invites the public to the Grand Opening of the New Digital Media Center on Sunday, November 15 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at 7151 Cherry Farms Road in Cordova. The event is free and open to all.

The Grand Opening will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting to officially open the Digital Media Center. The event will then feature tours of the building; music from PBS Kids’ Mr. Steve; a chance to meet Mr. Chuck, Clifford the Big Red Dog and WordGirl; and light refreshments.

“We’re delighted to present the WKNO Digital Media Center to the community in this way,” said Michael LaBonia, WKNO President and CEO. “We are very proud of this new facility and believe it will be a wonderful community institution, providing important educational programs, as well as a greater number of local shows and topical outreach events. We hope the public will take advantage of this Grand Opening and learn more about how WKNO will be able to continue to serve the community to a greater extent in this new building.”

Mr. Steve currently hosts the morning PBS Kids block on WKNO/Channel 10. The block features Curious George, Sid the Science Kid, Super WHY, and Dinosaur Train. Mr. Steve is best loved for his fun music during the morning programs. He will perform two concerts at this event at 2:30 and at 4:30 p.m.

WKNO’s own Mr. Chuck has been delighting preschool audiences on WKNO since 1993. He hosts the weekly favorite Hello Mr. Chuck! and Hello Friends weekdays.
