Downton Abbey Revisited is a recollection of the first three seasons from the popular television series, which has been embraced by many viewers and critics, making the most-watched Masterpiece drama in PBS history.
Downton Abbey, created by Academy Award-winning writer Julian Fellows, tells the story of the noble Crawley family and the staff who serve them in their luxurious Yorkshire estate. In this special, beloved actors Michelle Dockery, Siobhan Finneran, and many more popular stars from the program come together and revisit some of the most memorable moments. Downton Abbey Revisited also features interviews and background footage and is hosted by Angela Lansbury.
Interviews with creators Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame reveal the origins of the series and their vision of a combination of Edwarian-era tradition with modern multi-character storytelling. Actors Hugh Bonneville, Dame Maggie Smith, and Siobhan Finneran (who play the popular roles Robert, Violet, and O’Brien) talk about the characters and share the family-like relationships that have been established among the cast throughout the seasons. Fashion, which is a starring role in the series, is also discussed, as well as “costume envy” among the actors.
